Tour style: Adventure, Trekking. An adventurous journey that traverses the heart of this fascinating continent, from ancient Inca civilisations, through dramatic Andean landscapes, to the vibrant samba soaked city of Rio de Janeiro.

Day 1
Arrive Lima
Day 2
Travel to Pisco
Days 3 - 4
Continue to Nazca, take an optional flight over the mysterious Nazca Lines before visiting a pre Inca cemetery.
Days 5 - 7
Explore the picturesque region surrounding Arequipa before travelling to Colca Canyon.
Days 8 & 9
Fly to Cusco & travel through the Sacred Valley visiting ancient Inca sites including Ollantaytambo.
Days 10 - 13
Hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. On final day of the trek climb the steps to the Sun gate for a chance to watch sunrise over Machu Picchu before a guided tour of the famous Inca ruin.
Days 14 - 16
Explore the beautiful colonial town of Cusco. Rafting, mountain biking or horse riding are possible options.
Day 17
Enjoy the spectacular views on the journey through the Altiplano to Puno.
Days 18 - 19
Explore Uros, Amantani & Taquile Islands on Lake Titicaca and immerse yourself in Peruvian rural life with a homestay in a small village.
Days 20 & 21
Journey along the shores of lake Titicaca to the world's highest capital city, La Paz.
Days 22 - 25
Travel by train & bus to Uyuni to embark on a 4WD adventure into the Salar de Uyuni, some of the most isolated & dramatic landscapes in Latin America.
Day 26
Discover the colonial silver mining centre of Potosi. There is the opportunity to take an optional descent into a working mine.
Days 27 - 29
Enjoy the historic town of Sucre.
Days 30 & 31
Fly to Santa Cruz and board the overnight train to Puerto Suarez on the Brazilian border.
Days 32 & 33
Join a 2 day excursion into the immense Pantanal wetlands.
Days 34 - 38
Snorkel in crystal clear rivers in Bonito and cross the vast cattle ranches of Mato Grosso do Sul en route to the awesome Iguassu Falls.
Days 39 - 44
Travel to Paraty & Ihla Grande before arriving in Rio de Janeiro.
Day 45
Depart Rio de Janeiro.

Permits to hike the Inca Trail sell out many months in advance we therefore advise clients to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

The Inca Trail is usually closed during February each year for maintenance. Alternative hiking routes are available, ask your consultant for details.
