Tour style: Adventure. Imagine gliding past a herd of buffalo only metres away as you canoe through the Okavango; watching as a pride of lions come down to a waterhole in Etosha at sunset; camping overnight in the Serengeti as all around you the bush is alive with the sounds of the African night. Or having a beer with the locals in a village in the highlands of Malawi, going tracking with the Bushmen in Namibia, or watching the fishing boats put out to sea as you dine out at the food stalls in Zanzibar. You will experience it all on this classic overland adventure crossing half of Africa from Kenya's capital to the buzzing city of Cape Town.

Day 1 Nairobi.
Discover Kenya's cosmopolitan capital.

Days 2-3 Mto Wa Mbu/ Karatu.
Get a taste of African village life, touring local homes, schools and farmland.

Days 4-5 Serengeti National Park.
Look out for the 'big five' in this world renowned National Park.

Day 6 Ngorongoro Crater/ Karatu.
Drive through this stunning extinct volcano to spot iconic African wildlife.

Day 7 Marangu.
Visit a school for street kids and witness life among the Chagga people, peaceful farmers living on Mt Kilimanjaro's slopes.

Days 8-9 Lushoto.
Ramble through the unspoilt Usambara Mountains and enjoy local hospitality.

Day 10 Dar es Salaam.
Glimpse the silhouette of Mt Kilimanjaro en route to the beach camp.

Days 11-13 Zanzibar.
Touch, taste and smell fragrant spices before diving into sparkling waters.

Day 14 Dar es Salaam.
Enjoy this palm-fringed port city.

Days 15-16 Iringa/ Chitimba.
Watch giraffes, elephants and buffalo grazing contentedly in Mikumi National Park.

Days 17-18 Lake Malawi.
Enjoy the lake's peaceful beaches.

Days 19-20 Luwawa Forest Lodge.
Cycle or walk through secluded conifer forests. The mountain streams are perfect for fishing or canoeing.

Days 21-22 Chipata/ Lusaka.
Cross the rushing Luangwa River.

Days 23-25 Livingstone / Victoria Falls.
Camp beside the Zambezi River and visit majestic Victoria Falls.

Days 26-27 Chobe National Park.
Spy fish eagles swooping for prey during a Chobe River cruise.

Days 28 Bagani Community Camp.
Pitch a tent in Namibia's beautiful Caprivi Strip.

Days 29-30 Okavango Delta.
Ride a mokoro through lily ponds filled with bird life and the occasional hippo.

Days 31-33 Rundu/ San Bushmen Camp.
Walk with San Bushmen and learn their ancient tribal customs.

Days 34-35 Etosha National Park.
Glimpse gentle-eyed antelope in clearings and beside waterholes.

Days 36-37 Spitzkoppe.
Gaze at dramatic rock formations glowing red in the setting sun.

Days 38-39 Swakopmund.
Enjoy the range of adventure sports on offer in this old German town.

Days 40-41 Sesriem/ Keetmanshoop.
Climb a soaring desert dune for a spectacular sunrise.

Day 42 Fish River Canyon.
Wander through forests of quiver trees.

Days 43-44 Orange River/ Western Cape.
Relax on scenic riverbanks.

Day 45 Cape Town.
The overland adventure ends in colourful Cape Town.
