KERALA BOATS, BACKWATERS & BEACH

Cochin’s picturesque harbour • Lake Periyar • Overnight on a houseboat • Bask on Kovalam Beach
Tour style: Private Tour. Kerala in the south western corner of India has a relaxed and tropical feel. The coconut palms sway, the fishermen cast their nets from little boats and the sun sparkles off a thousand different waterways. This tour of takes in all the ‘must see’ areas of Kerala.

Day 1 Cochin
Arrive in Cochin and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 Cochin
Explore Cochin with a half day city tour. Relax in the afternoon, perhaps sit by the harbour and watch the boats go by. In the evening experience a traditional Kathakali dance show consisting of elaborate performances and incredible costumes.
Day 3 Cochin to Periyar
Drive up into the cool Western Ghats, towards Lake Periyar and its wildlife reserve.
Day 4 Periyar
Enjoy an early morning boat ride on Lake Periyar and later take a trip to a spice plantation.
Day 5 Periyar to Backwaters
Leave the hills and travel to the backwaters of Alleppey, a network of canals and lakes that form an essential means of transport between villages. Your home for the night will be a houseboat, and your crew will take you on a peaceful cruise along the waterways.
Day 6 Backwaters to Kovalam
Bid farewell to your crew and head to the coast and the beaches of the Arabian Sea. Stroll along the sands, enjoy fresh seafood and watch the sunset.
Day 7 Kovalam
The emphasis for this day is relaxation! Catch some sun by the pool, read a book or stretch out in a hammock.
Day 8 Kovalam
Today an airport transfer will be provided so you can make the connection to your next destination.
