Day 1 Christchurch to Dunedin
The Timaru Wetlands, with a fantastic array of birdlife, are well worth a stop on the way to Dunedin.
Day 2 Dunedin
Enjoy a day in this charming university city or explore the nearby Otago Peninsula, home to rare and coastal wildlife including the yellow eyed penguin.
Day 3 Dunedin to Te Anau
Te Anau is the gateway to the Fiordland National Park offering many famous walks to beautiful mountain lakes.
Day 4 Te Anau to Milford Sound
Milford Sound is an absolute must see. Enjoy an overnight cruise with the chance to see fur seals and penguins.
Day 5 Milford Sound to Wanaka
Drive through spectacular mountain scenery to the town of Wanaka set on the crystal clear waters of Lake Wanaka.
Day 6 Wanaka
Try fly fishing, kayaking, waterskiing, horse trekking and Nordic skiing or simply explore the mountains at your own pace.
Day 7 Wanaka to Lake Tekapo
This beautiful, turquoise highland lake is a year round destination offering summer and winter activities.
Day 8 Lake Tekapo to Christchurch
Complete the circuit and return to the tree-lined city of Christchurch.
