Tour style: Adventure, Trekking. Retrace the steps of the ancient Inca civilisation hiking the spectacular Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.

Day 1
Arrive in Lima.
Day 2
Fly to Cusco. Explore at your leisure the ancient spiritual sites of Sacsayhuaman and Tambo Machay.
Day 3
Travel through the Sacred Valley, including the picturesque town and Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo.
Days 4 - 7
Hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. On final day of the trek climb the steps to the Sun gate for a chance to watch sunrise over Machu Picchu before a guided tour of the famous Inca ruin. Return to Cusco.
Day 8
Depart Cusco.
Accommodation
4 night's simple hotels sometimes with shared facilities. 3 night's camping on Inca Trail.

Permits to hike the Inca Trail sell out many months in advance we therefore advise clients to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

The Inca Trail is usually closed during February each year for maintenance. Alternative hiking routes are available, ask your Trailfinders consultant for details.
