Introduction
The Kinabatangan River is one of Sabah’s most accessible wildlife destinations and this tour offers visitors the chance to observe some of the many rare species this river is famous for. Cruise the waterways looking out for hornbills, elephants and proboscis monkeys which inhabit the area and enjoy a visit to the orangutan sanctuary at Sepilok.

Itinerary
Day 1 Sandakan to Kinabatangan River
Pick-up from Sandakan airport and transfer to the Gomantong Caves, home to thousands of swiftlets and bats, before continuing on to your jungle lodge in Sukau. After lunch, enjoy some time at leisure before taking a boat trip on the famous Kinabatangan River to look out for proboscis monkeys and other wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner.
Day 2 Kinabatangan River
Observe an amazing variety of wildlife as you enjoy an early morning cruise along the river to a nearby oxbow lake followed by a short trek through the lakeside forest. After breakfast, the rest of the day is free to explore the surrounding area before another late afternoon river cruise to spot wildlife.
Day 3 Kinabatangan River to Sandakan
After breakfast drive to the famous Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre where orphaned orangutans are prepared for release back into the wild before transferring to the airport for your onward flight.
